Embassy Adoption Program DCPS Global Ed
On February 17th 2022 the Embassy of Uganda hosted 20 5th grade students from the Anne Beers Elementary School in Washington, DC They are our Embassy adoption partners for school year 2021/22.
The students enjoyed immersing themselves in learning about all things Ugandan and had a Q&A session with Amb. Mull Katende. Our Cultural Diplomacy partner Mr. Solomon Jagwe engaged the students in learning some basic terms in Luganda using his creation the Nkoza and Nankya App. The students had quizzes and word translation games and won copies of the Nkoza and Nankya Magazine on Life in the Wildlife Game Parks. They were treated to Mandazi, Samosa and Chapati which many proclaimed as delicious. Yesterday the Embassy of Uganda hosted 20 5th grade students from the Anne Beers Elementary School in Washington, DC They are the Uganda Embassy adoption partners for school year 2021/22. The students enjoyed immersing themselves in learning about all things Ugandan and had a Q&A session with Amb. Mull Katende, the Head of Mission. In attendance were all the staff of the Embassy with whom they had a chance to interact. Mr. Solomon Jagwe, official cultural Diplomacy partner of the Embassy engaged the students in learning some basic terms in Luganda and Kiswahili using his creation the Nkoza and Nankya App. The students had quizzes and word translation games and won copies of the Nkoza and Nankya Magazine on Life in the Wildlife Game Parks and the teachers were gifted with packets of Uganda Coffee. The Embassy Adoption Program (EAP) is an academic year global education program that affords fifth and sixth grade students the unique opportunity to expand their global awareness through direct interactions with diplomats from around the world.
